Alot of things cannot be seen from the surface.
Smiles on the surface, friction beneath.
which means, alot of things are not as true as it seems.
be it roommates, neighbours and friends.
Just through these few months here, I've encounter all these and came to understand this.
But,
the Japanese is another case.
'Tatemae' 建前 aka facade. It is part of their culture, their lifestyle. One is bound by culture to show a fake front to others. Politeness is one thing, but fakeness is another subject altogether.
which brings me to the next term,
'Honne' 本音 aka true self. One is taught from young not to show his/her true self, and most importantly, not to be direct. To be direct is to be out of the group. and to be out of the group, you will be ostracised.
Bottomline, Japanese are fake.
pissed.

i am really damn angry.
**** MAS
for depreciating SGD now of all times.
**** JAPANESE INVESTORS
for dumping foreign currencies.
**** USA
for its economy collapse.
(why can't they just go to hell themselves without dragging other countries, and the whole world along with them).
and lastly, **** OBAMA
for not doing anything till now.
(where is his confidence man. what the hell happened to it?)

peishan spent 3000yen (~50sgd) on a pair of adidas slip-in sneakers.
cheap for a brand.
peishan is happy with her loot,
yet sad for spending on shoes again.
peishan must, should stop spending on unnecessary stuffs.

note to self: MUST SHOP next weekend.
i'm so friggin deprived of shopping. Shibuya is so full of great buys. Not that they're cheap or what, but the prices are pretty reasonable. Or maybe Harajuku where it's a tad cheaper but full of sickening kids. Imagine the japanese equivalent of bugis street.
sigh.
the weather is getting so cold that i dun feel like moving my butt from my chair.
ironically, i wanna go out and shop.
saw this pair of nice adidas shoes 2 days ago. it was half price. it was tempting me to buy. I hope it's still there tmr.
Met an online friend ytd - Shanghaiese lady who has been working here for around 6 years, and has been going to singapore frequently recently for work-related purpose. She's a great lady. friendly and helpful, and thought me alot about hypersims.
so many things wanna buy, so little $$$.

Waseda School Festival 2008 早稲田祭
1:44 AM
because i'm tired and it's 1.44am here now, i shall make this short and sweet.
Waseda School Festival rocks, even though it's noisy as hell, crowded as hell, korean food sucks and...... being unbelievably crowded. urgh.
(cannot be compared with sg japanese school's one okayyyy. it's like comparing Japan's size to sg.)
Nevertheless it was fun. nice experience. Thanks yoshiyuki~
now enjoy the photos;

traffic personnel.

Wasedasai aka Waseda School Festival 2008.

the crowd. for the love of god, 退いてください!!!!!!!

the interesting costumes ppl come up with to advertise for something....

the landmark of Waseda.

and a question. girl?..........or guy?

a random food store.

more scary crowds.

and how nice for him to pose for me :o

yoshiyuki staring at the map.
and more stores below;

another creative use of costume -.-
i wonder if he's actually sleeping cuz he's obviously breathing but he did not move for at least 15 mins.

some music brand preparing to perform

some music brand performing brazilian music.

nice building with houses

and next up, evangelion stuff;
for stupid eel and zelfi.

lady in white is the VA for Asuka. too bad back facing us sia.

and this event ended with a mass audience+asuka rendition of Cruel Angel Thesis.
now, people, aren't you jealous i was at this festival. LOL.
a very belated update I: Yokohama 19/10
Saturday, November 1, 2008
12:22 PM
I just came back from a 2-day Nikko trip less than 1 day ago, and i just woke up less than 1 hr ago :(
and nikko is so beautifuuuuuul-mofu.
but i digress. I shall start my belated updates.
Yokohama is the 2nd largest city in Japan. It is just directly south of Tokyo city. It is near the sea, so it is very cold. Then again, japan is like, cold, everywhere now. the wind is annoying. even with the sun shining on every ounce of your body, if there is wind = brrr cold.

hmms, yokohama.

and its main attraction, Chinatown. Yokohama's chinatown is the largest in Japan. (there are 2 more in Kobe and Nagasaki).
and it is very stereotypical chinese -.- as usual.

with chinese food like siewmai (which is not yellow),

funny looking panda baos

and CHARSIEWBAO.

which taste really authentic but is really really tiny.

there's even a temple, but with taiwan flags instead of china flags. SO WEIRD LA.

we even randomly met a celebrity politician there -.- Some maruyama guy. Alot of Japanese girls were like, 'kyaaaa, ahhhhhhh, kyaaaaaa, maruyamaaa!!!' -.-
he shuai meh. so old sia.

THERE'S EVEN A RICKSHAW.
give me a break. Chinese is really depicted as backwards sia. -.- lol.
Then we finally left Chinatown and head for Yamashita park which is 5 mins walk away.

and went to this
contents wise, ship history blarblar. nothing interesting or worth mentioning, or even worth wasting space here. for more photos inside, facebook please.

then we went cosmo world to sit.......

the ferris wheel, obviously.
and following up is some fantastic nightviews:

OK LA I LAZY UPDATE LE. i go sleep le. nights people.
yokohama...終わり
it's a package deal
